Ways to Play the Piano

There are many ways to play the piano and you can choose one of them or you can even use all of them simultaneously. It’s up to you whether you play by ear, by reading sheet music, by piano chords or improvise.

Playing the Piano by Ear:

Actually you don’t have to know how to read notes to play any instrument, including the piano of course. You can speak without reading from a book, right? Same goes for the music. And don’t forget that there isn’t something like the ‘right way’ to play the piano. Choose the way that suits you the most. To be able to play the piano by ear, you need to spend a lot of time playing the piano. You need experience and skills to do this. It’s not hard or anything, you just need some time…

Playing the Piano with Notes:

Improvising and creating your own music is fun. But what about playing songs which were created by other musicians? Listening to them and simply playing them by ear needs some training, experience and skills. If the song is long and fast, it will be even harder to play it by ear. In situations like these you can benefit from musical notes. If you know how to read notes, you can play any songs that have been written.

Piano Chords:

It’s the easiest way to learn how to play the piano. Simply improvise and create your own pieces or accompany songs. It’s recommended for beginners and you don’t need to know how to read notes to be able to play piano chords.
